About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer I is a problem-solver, facilitator, change agent, innovator, designer and project manager. Responsible for performing these functions on issues as they are assigned (or arise) in the designated area.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor degree in engineering or another related field. Mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Experience: No previous experience required. Engineering internship preferred.
  • Required Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Good written and oral communications. Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop plans for accomplishing assigned work and set priorities with a proper sense of urgency.
  • Ability to make timely decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of machine programming systems.
  • Knowledge of computer aided drafting/design software such as AutoCad and Inventor.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful completion of projects with clearly defined goals and scope and concise project progress reports.
  • Evaluates need, analyzes options, develops plan, develops Appropriation Request (AR) and manages implementation of project until completed within the allotted time frame.
  • Assists support personnel (Technicians, Maintenance, Tool and Die, etc.) in less complex technical matters as needed.
  • Develops, installs and maintains optimum processes for the safe manufacture of quality product in a productive manner using modern manufacturing methods.
  • Develops procedures and provides training on new processes, tools and equipment, including but not limited to defining Preventative and Predictive Maintenance requirements and mechanical evaluation of processes and equipment, as needed.
  • Coordinates successful corrections to production problems using sound manufacturing engineering problem-solving techniques and practices.
  • When needed, develops alternate methods or processes to allow emergency continued production. Alternate solutions are evaluated using sound engineering economy techniques.
  • Demonstrates regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.
  • General industrial engineering functions as necessary.
