About The Position

Collins Aerospace is is looking for a manufacturing engineer to join our team in Jamestown, ND supporting our Cargo Systems. The Manufacturing Engineer will design and develop manufacturing processes for products and analyze operations information to makes changes to procedures as needed to solve problems or improve efficiency. This role may be eligible for relocation. What You Will Do Develop manufacturing planning for cargo system details and assemblies. Core competencies at Jamestown include machining, sheet metal fabrication, processing, painting and assembly (both Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical). Provide technical support to internal/external customers to ensure cost, quality, delivery and safety objectives are met. Troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation. Evaluate, prepare, and follow-up on manufacturing processes used to fabricate detail parts or assemblies Development of Illustrated Standard Work Combination Sheets (ISWCS) for cargo system assemblies. Participate in Continuous Improvement events to improve flow and linkage, increase point of use, develop standard work, reduce cycle time, and improve EHS and 5S.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related Manufacturing experience.
  • CAD Modeling experience (NX or related)
  • Previous Co-op or Internship experience.
  • SAP or other MRP experience in planning product manufacturing
  • Statistical methods background applied in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
