About The Position

Supports the manufacture of quality products in an efficient manner through the design and development of appropriate methods and effective use of machining processes to produce quality machined parts.

Requirements

  • This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering/Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 or more years in a CNC machining environment, demonstrates proficiency in both operating and programming CNC Mills, Multi-Tasking machines and Lathes.
  • Ability to quickly problem solve on the shop floor, and collaborate with ME Team colleagues, machinists, design engineers and other contributors to overcome challenges when required.
  • Experience executing efficient and effective CNC machining methods across multiple types of machines
  • Proficient in the use of CAD / CAM software; (Auto Desk Inventor / Master CAM, Esprit preferred).
  • Understanding of GD&T and how it relates to the process
  • Demonstrated understanding of surface plate inspection procedures
  • Ability to promote and maintain manufacturing process standardization.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and team player, must be able to accept feedback
  • Demonstrated experience in robust fixture and tooling design.

Responsibilities

  • Develops methods and processes for manufactured parts and assemblies through routings, operation sketches, tool sheets and set-up information.
  • Creates CNC programs using Esprit CAM software and knowledge base along with YFT best practices.
  • Supports the organization's new product introductions, productivity, machine strategy and continuous improvement initiatives including implementation of robotics and new CNC equipment.
  • Evaluates, specifies and / or designs tooling, gauges and fixtures to be used in the manufacturing process.
  • Sustains legacy CNC programs and documentation as necessary.
  • Define, track and report on machining efficiencies using process metrics.
  • Maintain and improve on tooling selection, usages and costs.
  • Lead and implement engineering activities on the shop floor.
  • Project management and implementation as assigned.
  • Track, evaluate and improve production time standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
