Our Moog Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Associate to function as a Manufacturing/Test/Industrial Engineering problem solver and coordinate solutions of manufacturing problems through all affected areas. You’ll facilitate operational targets with direct impact on manufacturing by providing support and technical expertise on assembly, testing, and inspection of product to ensure it conforms to design data. This role has an onsite work schedule at our business unit, Moog Avionics, located in Mineral Wells, TX. Moog Avionics delivers customer-focused technologies and customized solutions for Special Mission, Military & Defense, Military Trainer, Business, and General Aviation industries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering/technology field (Mechanical Engineering preferred) with up to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, parts lists, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Ability to comprehend machine operation from manufacturer’s manuals.
  • Effective communication skills to instruct others performing manufacturing processes to efficiently transmit instructions.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Adobe, Excel, Project, SolidWorks and computer aided design.
  • Desire to learn programming languages and interfaces for testing software.
  • Ability to apply statistics and calculations using technical judgment for work accuracy under limited supervision.
  • Must be a U.S citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Gain and utilize working knowledge of technologies in the factory and their impact on production methods.
  • Assist in designing tooling, fabrication aids, jigs, and fixtures for assembly.
  • Develop methods and operation sequences for fabrication and assembly.
  • Review and coordinate the documentation of manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Assist in the development of assembly guides, procedures, and illustrations.
  • Investigate manufacturing problems that are encountered during the manufacture of parts and assemblies.
  • Provide technical alternatives for and coordinate the solution with others on problems with tooling, inspection, engineering, material, and manufacturing.
  • Assist in the development of software and instructions for automated equipment.
  • Document problems in a manner to allow for traceability of faults, assemblies, serial numbers, and other identifying characteristics for trend analysis.
  • Perform calibration using procedures, design data, and tools.
  • Support several concurrent tasks on a routine basis.
