The Manufacturing Engineer will support sub-assembly and parent-level assembly (and potentially even metal fabrication) operations by generating production routings, work instructions, tooling, jigs/fixtures, and resolving immediate production issues through hands-on support. The engineer will assist in process development and continuous improvement activities. Additionally, this professional will also support the launch of production programs and may advise design engineers on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and other production-related matters. An example of tasking would be as follows: This Manufacturing Engineer (colloquially referred to as "Production Support Engineer") will be assigned to programs to support production of specific major assembles (and sub-assemblies). Principle duties will include development, review, and validation of production routings and work instructions but will also contribute directly to process improvement (CI), safety, as well as design and development of Tooling, Fixturing, and support structures as needed to facilitate assembly operations.
