In this role, you’ll rotate through 12-hour shifts and support Shift Mechanics in Thermoforming and Extrusion — stepping in as the subject-matter expert on both electrical and mechanical systems, especially during off-hours. Imagine this scenario A conveyor stalls at 2 a.m. You lock out the system, review the schematic, isolate a motor fault with a megger, swap the component, verify a 480V, 3-phase connection, and bring the line back in spec — all while documenting the work and briefing the supervisor. Requirements

  • 5+ years of Industrial Electrician experience.
  • High school diploma or GED; technical school preferred.
  • Fluency with desktop applications and Maintenance Connection CMMS.
  • Demonstrated skill using precision measurement tools and electrical test instruments.
  • Highly organized, accountable, self-directed; able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; effective with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Understands work design and can respond without detailed instructions; strong team orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues with minimal supervision; cover both disciplines on off-shifts.
  • Follow LOTO and all safety procedures rigorously.
  • Read and apply blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to install and repair equipment and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs; perform major repairs on 480V, 3-phase systems; replace and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances.
  • Inspect and test electrical equipment and circuits (lighting, signal, communication, power); replace switches, sockets, transformers, fixtures, bulbs, and ballasts.
  • Use precision measurement devices plus ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, test lamps, and meggers to isolate defects.
  • Disassemble, repair/replace parts, maintain and adjust motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, and fans; clean and lubricate as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM requirements and safety codes; inspect completed repairs.
  • Operate equipment required to perform the job; requisition parts; keep the area clean and organized.
  • Communicate status and issues to production supervisors, maintenance leads, acting supervisors, or maintenance supervisors; assist as needed with related duties.
