DESCRIPTION APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop new manufacturing process and capability (includes incorporating all aspects of equipment, consumables, key parameters, process setup, and qualification), selection and/or design of manufacturing equipment, automation, and strategic R&D. Utilize data to drive process decisions, basic data analysis, DOES, SPC, etc. Design for manufacturing review. This includes providing feedback on vendors DFMs for each stage of the NPI building. Identify, research, develop, and qualify premier equipment manufacturers and Suppliers. Optimize existing manufacturing processes to reduce cost (fixture complexity, parameters, cycle time, and part flow). Own yield improvement actions across multiple assembly operations. Work with cross function peers (GSM, MQE, SME) during development stages of a new process to share critical learnings. Review Equipment Design Documentation and work with Cross Functional Teams and Vendors with timely feedback and optimizations for performance, cost, and efficiency. Review Line Qualification documentation provided from the Vendors to evaluate capability to meet manufacturing requirements. Conduct regular meetings with in-region Apple teams to discuss strategy, trials, cost evaluations and project related activities based on NPI projects. Conduct meetings with Cross Functional teams such as Quality, Product Design, GSM, SME to evaluate project status and strategy between engineering builds. Research new technologies with international companies to evaluate feasibility for implementation into Apple related projects. Provide project & innovation related status updates to senior/executive team regularly. International travel required 30%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $128,400 - $193,800/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technologies, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Utilizing Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to review design drawings and identify manufacturing processes based on these tolerances.
  • Utilizing quality control metrics (Cp/Cpk) to make informed process decision based on data
  • Processing qualification skillsets to develop and scale new or existing manufacturing process steps.
  • Utilizing equipment fundamentals to audit machine designs and make recommendations for optimization or identify potential risks.
  • Identifying manufacturing process risks, troubleshooting process/product issues and identifying corrective actions.
  • Applying Failure analysis and root cause evaluation to work through issues systematically
  • Presenting to various leadership levels on technical topics using Keynote, JMP for data analysis, and NX (CAD or CAM Software).
  • Auditing manufacturing lines for nonconformances and making recommendations on process optimizations
