About The Position

As a Manufacturing Cost Engineer , you will be a vital part of our operations team, collaborating with sales, customer service, quality, and manufacturing teams to design efficient workflows, analyze costs, and enhance productivity. This role blends engineering principles, analytics, leadership, and problem-solving to meet customer expectations while driving profitability and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or 2+ years of equivalent experience in industrial manufacturing, fluid power, mechanical, or quality control management.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic math and mechanical aptitude, including the ability to utilize tape measures and digital calipers.
  • Type 25+ WPM.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, Certified Reliability Engineer, or Certified Quality Engineer.
  • Familiarity with Lean and/or Six Sigma principles and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Experience using Epicor and CAD systems.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Manufacturing Cost Engineer in an OEM fabricator setting.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Plan, execute, and manage continuous improvement projects alongside engineers and the Divisional Manager.
  • Communication: Effectively interact with management, clients, vendors, and production staff to gather information, provide updates, and align project goals.
  • Cost Estimation: Analyze production costs (materials, labor, equipment) and assess the impact of product design changes on expenditures.
  • Production Scheduling: Develop and manage schedules, coordinate resources, and update routing to meet operational requirements.
  • Quality Control: Implement procedures to minimize defects and collaborate with production teams to address quality issues.
  • Process Optimization: Conduct time studies, analyze workflows, and implement strategies to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Data Management: Perform data entry and database management to ensure accurate records.
  • Customer Expectations: Foster a culture of urgency and disciplined adherence to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety practices and wear appropriate PPE in manufacturing environments.
  • Team Support: Participate in training programs, lead by example, and support team development in quality standards, safety practices, and compliance
