About The Position

As a Cost Engineer at Lee Kennedy Company, you will play an integral role in coordinating job-specific procedures and driving strong financial performance across complex projects. You will collaborate closely with LKCo staff, subcontractors, trade partners, and clients to ensure accurate and timely cost reporting, maintain disciplined budget controls, mitigate project risks, and identify strategic opportunities that strengthen overall project outcomes. In this role, you will combine financial insight, organizational excellence, and proactive problem-solving to support successful project delivery—ensuring alignment with LKCo’s standards for quality, safety, and operational excellence while helping projects stay on time and on budget.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Accounting/Finance (preferred) and 0-5 years related experience
  • Capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well organized
  • Cooperative and personable – Team player
  • Above average interpersonal skills and have excellent follow-through capability
  • Effective and direct communication skills
  • Troubleshoot, identify, and quickly resolve issues
  • Strong knowledge of most Microsoft Office products

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CMIC, Procore, and/or GC Pay is valuable
  • Risk management experience is valuable

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist LKCo staff to maintain project estimates and facilitate accurate cost and revenue reporting for monthly Executive review meetings.
  • Assist LKCo staff to update monthly projected cost
  • Liaison between Project Management and Accounting
  • Assist LKCo staff during the new construction phase setup. Provide suggestions that meet client requirements and requests
  • Review financials, subcontractor cost & supporting documentation with LKCo staff to be incorporated into the client requisition
  • Maintain cash flow. Develop and manage client requisitions to ensure they are submitted in a timely fashion and adhere to all requirements. Help to address client comments and relay to all parties
  • Post monthly job cost and revenue to the general ledger
  • Process and cut payment to vendors when necessary
  • Respond to client, subcontractor, and related party inquiries in a timely fashion
  • Interact with subcontractors and their subcontractors/suppliers/unions to ensure up-to-date with all payments
  • Troubleshoot and identify strategic techniques. Make suggestions to LKCo staff
  • Perform additional assignments as required
