Manufacturing Coordinator

Helix ElectricGoodyear, AZ
$25 - $30

About The Position

Helix Electric was founded in 1985 and is now one of the nation’s largest and most successful electrical contracting companies. Our commitment to empowering people and powering projects is realized by our exceptional team of dedicated and highly skilled experts working together and never settling for good enough. We are proud of the team-oriented and employee-empowered business approach that defines our unique character. We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Manufacturing Coordinator to support seamless alignment between our Prefabrication Facility and Operations teams. This role manages material flow, production planning, schedules, and communication to ensure the shop and field stay coordinated and informed. The ideal candidate embodies Helix’s commitment to empowering people and powering projects — driving efficiency, reliability, and teamwork across all stages of prefab delivery. The Manufacturing Coordinator will anticipate challenges, maintain strong relationships with field teams and shop leadership, and help drive continuous improvement as our prefab program grows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, prefabrication, production planning/control, operations, or a related environment; or a relevant degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or similar field with 1+ year of applicable experience.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement practical, scalable solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with proven success working cross-functionally with field teams, shop leads, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented prefab environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary interface between field operations (Project Managers, Superintendents) and the Prefab shop: track and respond to prefab-related communications and inquiries.
  • Manage the entire order process — from initial field request through quote, material release, fabrication, assembly and delivery — coordinating with project teams, buyers, vendors, shop leads, and receiving.
  • Monitor shop production status and work order progress, coordinate scheduling with shop leads, and follow up to resolve delays or bottlenecks.
  • Communicate proactively with field teams regarding material availability, detail clarifications, order status, potential issues, and delivery delays.
  • Estimate labor and shipping costs for prefab work, review work orders and quotes, and support change-order processing when project scope changes.
  • Collaborate with Receiving to release materials, address shortages or delivery issues, and coordinate timely shipment to field sites.
  • Lead and facilitate regular coordination meetings with field project teams and shop leadership to review project status, schedule alignment, and address questions or concerns.
  • Assist in project schedule management — aligning prefab production and delivery milestones with field installation timelines.
  • Utilize ERP system (E2) to enter and review work orders, track production metrics, manage time tracking or hours reporting (as required), and maintain accurate documentation of prefab orders and shipments.
