About The Position

A Manufacturing Assembly Technician performs technical assembly and support tasks such as constructing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and calibrating electronic and mechanical components, microwave tubes, and electro-mechanical devices. This role works from drawings, procedures, and instructions under supervision while supporting production quality, safety, and schedule goals in a clean manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, AA degree, technical training, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (typically 2–4+ years)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings or schematics
  • Experience using hand tools, microscopes, or precision assembly equipment
  • Experience in a manufacturing clean room
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn new technical skills and processes
  • Ability to support production schedules, including overtime when needed
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals) due to access to export-controlled technology.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods during assembly and testing work
  • Frequent use of hands for tools, small parts, and precision operations
  • Ability to lift and move materials or equipment up to approximately 30 pounds
  • Occasional standing and walking within the work area
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Ability to operate lifting devices such as small cranes when required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of TIG/GTAW welding or resistance welding is a plus
  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance would be a huge plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on assembly, fabrication, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components, microwave tubes, and related production hardware using engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Operate manufacturing, welding, brazing, and laboratory equipment to build, process, evaluate, and maintain production assemblies and test hardware.
  • Set up and execute routine and developmental tests, collect data, and document results in accordance with engineering and quality requirements.
  • Perform calibration, alignment, and functional verification of mechanical and electronic systems to ensure product performance and compliance.
  • Prepare materials, compounds, and solutions used in processing, metalizing, or fabrication activities following established procedures and safety standards.
  • Support root cause analysis and evaluation of rejected, returned, or in-process hardware in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Fabricate or modify simple tooling, fixtures, and support equipment to improve assembly efficiency or product quality.
  • Repair assemblies, circuit boards, instruments, or customer hardware as required.
  • Safely move, position, and handle production hardware and equipment using carts, fixtures, cranes, or lifting devices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area while supporting production schedules, team objectives, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Continuously develop technical skills across products, processes, and equipment.
  • Perform other related operational and production duties as assigned.
