About The Position

The Manufacture Reliability & EHS Specialist drives operational excellence by analyzing performance metrics, implementing process enhancements, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role combines technical expertise in maintenance optimization with a strong focus on environmental, health, and safety standards to deliver measurable improvements across all operational areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Business or Engineering.
  • Five years of related experience and/or training in an equivalent position.
  • Strong communication skills to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and issues.
  • Solid understanding of EHS compliance (including but not limited to OSHA and local site requirements) and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience or leadership capability through projects.
  • Work in a high energy, high volume, rapidly changing environment.
  • Can multitask and manage multiple large to small projects in a cross functional environment.
  • Break down a complex concept so that is easily understood by the target audience.
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results.
  • Achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved.
  • Clear and effective communication skills in both written and spoken forms.
  • Understand how to use the computers, including such tasks as turning the computer on and off, locating and opening files, navigate to websites, perform searches, and download files.
  • Ability to interpret regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Provides excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure that decisions are made based on policies, rules and organizational directives to solve emerging problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) preferred.
  • Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Additional safety certificates or credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drives KPI achievement through systematic fault elimination, risk mitigation, asset lifecycle management, and continuous performance monitoring.
  • Analyzes operational metrics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for measurable process improvements.
  • Evaluates maintenance procedures and schedules for effectiveness, develops improvement recommendations, and implements solutions using internal resources.
  • Verifies that maintenance procedures and processes comply with all applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Provides project management support through coordination and oversight of internal and external resources.
  • Designs, delivers, and facilitates safety training programs in line with AIT corporate policy, processes and procedures.
  • Fosters a culture of excellence by monitoring & reinforcing high performance standards and maintaining a robust EHS Management System.
  • Acts as the AIT representative for site Safety Committee meetings, contributes to safety topics, and actively participates in workplace safety observations.
  • Conducts thorough, objective incident investigations including documentation and root cause analysis.
  • Develops and implements audit tools to identify process deviations and non-conformances, driving corrective actions to ensure standards are met.
  • Partners with customer departments to identify EHS issues related to standards compliance and implements corrective actions for non-conformances.
  • Leads pre-task risk assessments for non-routine work activities.
  • Reviews routine work and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure alignment with safety best practices.
  • Compiles safety KPIs and produces actionable reports that enable Site Leadership to drive behavioral improvements.
  • Collaborates with Corporate EHS and Site Leadership to coordinate environmental compliance activities and prevention initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
