About The Position

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC, a world-class supplier of power generation services, parts, and repairs, has an immediate opening for a qualified individual who has a desire to join a growing organization and an appetite for diverse and technically challenging work. MD&A's Repairs Division is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to use power operated machine tools, repair and/or fabricate precision metal parts/components that are found in various pieces of power generation equipment to specific tolerance levels. Position Overview: As a Manual Machinist in our Repairs Division, you’ll use your expertise to operate machine tools, repair, and fabricate precision components critical to power generation equipment. This position offers the chance to work on a wide range of machines, from lathes, VTLs, HBMs and grinders, and work closely with other skilled professionals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, apprenticeship training or trade school preferred.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: A strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Skill Set: Experience with a range of machinery including Bridgeport-type mills, engine lathes, vertical turning lathes (VTL), horizontal boring mills (HBM), and more.
  • Proficient in the use of surface grinders, blanchard grinders, portable lathes, and stud removal hydraulic drills.
  • Work Ethic: A strong commitment to quality, safety, and precision with a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the most efficient work procedures and tools to be used on assigned tasks.
  • Use a variety of precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate dimensions and maintain strict tolerances (Vernier calipers, height gauges, micrometers, etc.).
  • Operate and set up machines, including lathes, mills and grinders.
  • Be flexible with extended hours during peak seasons, including both day and night shifts.
