Manual Machinist II
About The Position
JOB DUTIES: • Set-ups and operates manual mills and lathes on a limited variety of materials with litmited assistance • Uses milling, drilling, grinding, and other machines • Lays out work and produces quality parts • Decipher sketches, blueprints, and engineering details with assistance • Carries a job through from raw materials to the finished products from drawings, sketches, samples or verbal instruction • Sharpens, reworks, resets and repairs cutting tools • Inspects and checks parts being produced • Maintains accurate production records and job history • Keeps a clean and orderly work area • Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) from an accredited institution required • 3+ years of experience in manual machining • Has a mid level knowledge of machine uses and manufacturing materials PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: • Be able to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls • Be able to reach overhead • Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time • Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks • Be able to lift and/or move 35 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday
Requirements
