Position Title: Manual Machinist I, Drills Summary: A successful Manual Machinist I, Drills Operator can safely and effectively drill and broach parts while keeping our high quality standard. This is an Hourly, Non-Exempt position reporting to Group Leader. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate efforts to safely and efficiently produce products that meet all quality parameters. Ability to modify drill point for various applications. Advanced level of job operating efficiency. Ability to operate multiple machines. Proven ability to inspect work and hold tolerances. Ability to identify and share process improvement ideas. Minimum Qualifications: Highschool Diploma or GED required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic understanding of equipment and processes in areas of responsibility. Effective people skills. Ability to read and interpret precision measuring equipment and fractions as they relate to scaled measuring. Own basic tools. Basic blueprint reading skills. Basic product knowledge. Capable of understanding and following routing information. Minimal set-up capabilities. Minimal tooling and fixturing knowledge. Basic understanding of feeds and speeds. Minimum of 2 years proven experience. Minimal layout capabilities. . Technical training as required. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
