About The Position

We are seeking a Managing Director, Technology Strategy & Transformation to lead and grow our presence in the San Francisco Bay Area’s world-leading technology ecosystem. This role is designed for a senior leader who understands how to translate emerging technologies, cloud, AI, digital platforms, and enterprise software. You will shape regional direction, drive net new revenue growth, deliver high-impact client engagements, and strengthen Sia’s credibility with C-suite leaders across the technology sector. What You’ll Lead Business Development & Strategic Growth Define and lead go-to-market strategies tailored to the Bay Area technology ecosystem, helping tech leaders translate product and platform advantage into profitable growth and measurable enterprise value, across: Enterprise and cloud-enabled business transformation – modernize platforms and delivery AI, data, and automation programs tied to measurable business outcomes – including cost productivity, customer experience, faster decision making, and risk reduction Digital product, platform, and ecosystem strategy – product vision and roadmap, monetization and pricing, partner and marketplace strategy, build/buy/partner choices Operating model, organization, and ways-of-working transformation enabled by technology - Product-led ways of working (including AI-first functions), cross-functional governance, capability building, and performance management Build and expand a sustainable pipeline of net-new business by engaging C-suite and senior leaders across product, engineering, go-to-market, operations, and finance, with IT as a key partner when relevant. Originate, shape, and close complex consulting engagements that connect strategy to execution, with clear ownership of revenue growth, margin, and overall financial performance. Market Presence & Thought Leadership Act as a public ambassador for Sia in the technology community — speaking at events, participating in industry forums, and shaping thought leadership that resonates in tech-driven markets. Elevate Sia’s brand as a go-to advisor for digital strategy, AI adoption, cloud-enabled modernization, and organizational transformation. Client & Delivery Leadership Serve as the senior point of contact for technology and digital transformation engagements with executive leadership at top-tier tech companies and enterprise buyers. Drive measurable client outcomes by shaping strategy, overseeing delivery quality, and ensuring commercial excellence. Maintain a presence in high-value client engagements, balancing strategic advisory and hands-on contribution. People Leadership & Team Development Mentor and develop senior managers and partners, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, innovation, and ongoing professional growth. Build and retain high-performing teams capable of delivering client expectations and strategic priorities. Key Responsibilities This role is focused on generating net-new revenue by identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities in the Bay Area technology market. It is not primarily an account expansion role. Remain actively engaged in client work, with billability aligned to revenue contribution and the successful delivery of high-impact engagements. Represent Sia with senior technology and business leaders, building trusted relationships and expanding our presence across the local technology ecosystem. Recruit, develop, and retain top consulting talent and help build teams capable of delivering sustained client impact.

Requirements

  • Experience: 15+ years in management consulting or technology strategy roles, with a strong record of accomplishment of leading complex engagements and growing revenue with technology or tech-enabled clients.
  • Sector Depth: Deep understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP), enterprise software environments, and AI/automation frameworks that shape modern business strategy.
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated success in originating and closing complex consulting engagements, and in building trusted executive relationships.
  • Leadership: Strong executive presence, ability to mentor senior teams, and a reputation for developing talent and fostering growth.
  • Local Network: Established professional network and credibility across Bay Area technology clients.
  • Advanced Degrees: MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Candidates must demonstrate an established external presence, including active participation in industry-facing activities, such as: Speaking engagements at industry conferences, client forums, or professional events Panel participation or moderation on relevant business, functional, or industry topics Professional memberships in recognized industry associations or advisory councils Regular attendance and/or leadership involvement in executive-level events or forums that support brand building, client development, or thought leadership
