About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Managing Director - Senior U.S. Economist. The successful candidate should demonstrate analytical rigor, thought leadership on relevant macro topics, a sound understanding of global markets, expert communication skills, and leadership. The position requires an ability to generate and communicate differentiated points of view to discerning clients, and comfort with going against the grain when relevant. The successful candidate needs to have a strong work ethic and a high sense of urgency in being responsive to the needs of many stakeholders. The position is very team-oriented and will require extensive interaction with a large team of economists and stakeholders throughout Wells Fargo. In this role, you will: Support the Chief Economist in shaping the US economic outlook, leading forecast meetings, and generating new research themes Provide thought leadership on timely economic and financial issues of importance to the organization and clients through meetings and by contributing to our stable of research products Work closely with internal stakeholders across the organization Develop and guide a culture of talent development

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Economics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

  • 8+ years working as an economist
  • 4+ years managing a team of direct and indirect reports
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to author well written reports
  • Strong public speaking skills with ability to easily communicate technical economic concepts
  • Must have the ability to work collegially and collaboratively within a large team structure
  • A master's degree or higher in Economics or related
