If you are a person with a relentless drive to succeed, a strong focus on quality with a passion for success – join us today!   UCT is looking for a talented Managing Director, Program Management to join us in Hayward, CA!   The Managing Director (MD) of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership across UCT Services’ regional network, either in North America or Europe/Middle East Asia. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations and Engineering, the MD is responsible for leading multi-site operations to ensure consistent performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people development (SQDCP). This role is critical to aligning daily execution with long-term business strategy, building operational discipline, and ensuring customer satisfaction through predictable, high-quality service. The MD will champion scalable processes, cross-functional collaboration, and strong site-level accountability to support UCT’s continued growth.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership roles in previous positions desirable.
  • Excellent public presentation and interaction skills.
  • Uses judgment to resolve politically sensitive roadblocks.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor/capital equipment industry and financial management.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills, including the ability to systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions, and successfully devise and implement appropriate, cost-effective solutions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred, in Business Administration, Engineering, or Finance.
  • 15+ years of related experience in a fast growth-oriented semiconductor/capital equipment organization.
  • Minimum 5 years managerial experience in semiconductor/capital equipment/manufacturing operations environment including technology development and operational improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic & Organizational Leadership Translate UCT’s corporate vision into actionable regional and site-level execution plans.
  • Lead and mentor site leadership teams, building operational discipline and cross-site collaboration.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated work plans that align departmental and site strategies with business objectives.
  • Serve as the primary operational owner for assigned sites, accountable for all aspects of site performance.
  • Operations Management Direct multi-site operations including operations, engineering, logistics, facilities, IT, and administrative functions.
  • Ensure effective implementation of policies, procedures, and standard operating systems.
  • Lead structured management reviews, enforce leader standard work, and drive execution cadence through KPIs and daily management systems.
  • Set clear performance expectations and ensure consistent communication and alignment at all levels of the organization.
  • Financial & Business Planning Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets for assigned regions.
  • Analyze operational data to identify performance gaps, drive cost-reduction initiatives, and improve throughput and productivity.
  • Explore alternative methods of delivering services and deploying capital to meet changing business needs.
  • Customer & Commercial Alignment Partner with commercial, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure readiness for new business and customer qualifications.
  • Support revenue growth by ensuring operational scalability, quality, and service delivery.
  • Represent Operations in cross-functional initiatives and customer discussions, aligning execution with customer expectations.
  • People Development & Culture Build high-performing site teams through effective coaching, performance management, and leadership development.
  • Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and accountability.
  • Lead change management efforts to support growth, transformation, and standardization across the network.
