Provides strategic project management leadership for a line of business (LOB) or function. Delivers strategically significant, complex, multi-year projects and programs, which may span multiple geographies and functions. Includes communicating the organizational impacts of the change and providing proactive, creative solutions to the executive team with respect to project and change management activities. Builds a strong network and relationships with Executives, to lead projects within a budget of $50MM over a typical project horizon of 3 to 5+ years. Develops and implements project plans that include setting the vision, standards, and operational and resource plans. Builds and manages a team capable of delivering the required performance. Team includes project managers/senior project managers as well as individuals from across the organisation; may also include internal/external consultants and vendors. Sets context and direction for the team on the strategic vision and the tactics required to fulfill business objectives. Creates and implements training and development plans to ensure the capability and effectiveness of project team(s) into the future, Leads strategic initiatives focusing on horizontal alignment across functions to improve productivity, profitability, and customer experience. Leads all aspects of the project from definition through to implementation in alignment with project strategy, standards, and guidelines. Assigns senior project managers across businesses and geographies to support executive sponsors in the successful delivery of strategic initiatives. As a member of the business/group leadership team, provides guidance on project execution. Manages usage of enterprise tools and templates, and develops tools specific to business needs, as required. Partakes in researching project management best practices and stays current with industry and competitive developments by engaging with internal/external partners and experts. Introduces best practices in line with corporate standards and the Bank’s overall strategic direction. Makes recommendations on their potential deployment across the enterprise. Provides change management expertise to initiatives. Ensures Project Management Standards are effectively applied across all initiatives. Ensures project risks are managed in a manner consistent with the Enterprise Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF); acts as the first line of defense, responsible for day-to-day management of risk. Partners with business operations to monitor, report and track project outcomes (scope, schedule, budget). Complies with the Bank’s Risk Appetite framework and ensures risk-taking activities remain within agreed limits and comply with all regulatory requirements.
