About The Position

The Industry Practice Leader is responsible for setting the strategic vision and driving growth for the PEO & Staffing industry sector. This role brings together deep industry expertise, client leadership, and cross‑firm collaboration to develop differentiated value propositions, expand market presence, and deliver high‑impact solutions to clients. The leader serves as the firm’s primary industry ambassador—internally and externally—while building and mentoring a high‑performing team, strengthening key client relationships, and aligning capabilities across practices to achieve sustainable revenue growth and market leadership. Requirements

  • At least 10 years of industry-specific experience.
  • Displaying Aon United behaviors and drive value through our current operating model
  • Consulting skills: Identify client needs and clearly articulate the problem to be solved; recognizes challenges and barriers to solving them and assembles internal resources to achieve the desired client outcome
  • Financial acumen: Builds strong knowledge of the PEO client’s financials and strategy and is adept in discussing this with the client and internal teams
  • Effective communication: Listens and communicates with a client-centric, strategic focus and adapts to communication style of the client; clearly articulates client needs and action items internally; builds consensus within Aon and client organization
  • Team management: Strong influencing skills; ensures progress for all client projects and creates alignment of internal teams on related workstreams. Well versed in RFP finalist prep, jeopardy, Articulating Value and Client Discovery facilitation and actively participates and facilitates sessions leading to better business outcomes
  • Management Information: Understands and leverages management information to determine whitespace opportunities for growth across the industry

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic vision and business plan for the national industry practice group.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the practice group's market share and drive revenue growth.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of industry professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Market Insights: Stay abreast of industry trends, challenges, and opportunities to provide clients with cutting-edge insights and advice. This would include working with Solution Line leadership to develop and deliver relevant solutions to clients.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the practice group operates efficiently and effectively, meeting or exceeding financial targets and performance metrics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other leaders within Aon to align strategies and leverage cross-functional resources.
