This position has comprehensive responsibility for all functional areas of multiple plant locations including the efficient operation of production maintenance, personnel, safety, shipping & receiving, sanitation, scheduling, quality and process improvement. The role provides guidance, leadership and coaching to Plant Managers and support groups across the division. It requires successfully filling in when necessary in the absence of a Plant Manager. The Managing Director Operations will develop and lead problem resolution and provide optimal solutions for daily operations. This role is responsible for addressing, correcting, and holding accountable plants that are underperforming, and effectively motivating the leadership team to reach short and long-term goals. Key aspects include new plant manager onboarding and training, identifying and delivering development opportunities for plant management, and establishing and executing training for managers focusing on the plant manager level. The position also involves overseeing and managing special projects for the Business Unit and is responsible for identifying key performers for succession planning and assisting to develop the pipeline.
