We are looking for a senior leader responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and growth of East Daley’s advisory services & strategic client practice. This role blends 1) business development, 2) client engagement, 3) project oversight and consulting delivery, and 4) practice management. Success in this role requires creativity, innovation, and the ability to make timely, practical decisions while executing with a strong sense of urgency. You will shape our advisory offerings, lead high-impact engagements, and build trusted C-suite relationships across energy-focused private equity, midstream, upstream, and financial markets. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial builder who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings structure and strategy to ambiguity, and drives results with urgency and clarity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in consulting, corporate strategy, financial markets, or energy analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience in growing a consulting practice, leading consulting engagements or managing a consulting P&L.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex topics to senior energy and financial leaders.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required; SQL or modeling experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to operate with urgency, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal growth and the willingness to work extended hours during high-priority engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives across energy producers, midstream operators, traders, investors, and private equity firms.
  • Lead market updates, client briefings, and executive presentations; identify emerging client challenges and translate them into actionable consulting opportunities.
  • Scope, price, and tailor consulting engagements that align with East Daley’s capabilities and strategic priorities.
  • Extend East Daley’s suite of market fundamentals and financial research to address specific customer questions by leveraging existing products and developing new, data-driven solutions as needed.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new prospects and strategic accounts.
  • Teach others at East Daley to engage in and recognize opportunities for advisory service engagements.
  • Lead large, complex consulting engagements from discovery through final delivery, ensuring analytical rigor and strategic clarity.
  • Provide quality control, final review, and executive-level storytelling for all client-facing deliverables.
  • Guide analysts and subject-matter experts in building models, slides, insights, and market narratives.
  • Ensure consistent delivery excellence, on-time performance, and high client satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for the advisory services & strategic client practice, including service-line design, pricing strategy, and long-term growth targets.
  • Own unit P&L performance, including revenue, margin, pipeline development, and delivery scalability.
  • Establish and standardize consulting methodologies, frameworks, and delivery processes.
  • Partner closely with Product, Research, Data, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to build integrated offerings that expand East Daley’s market reach.
  • Mentor, develop, and inspire a team of consultants and analysts (direct and cross-functional).
  • Model a culture of transparency, urgency, and results with a “play to win” ethos.
  • Establish clear expectations, feedback loops, and performance standards across the consulting function.
  • Recruit and develop talent as the advisory practice grows.

  • Base salary: $190,000 – $240,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Annual incentive (target): 40% – 60% of base, tied to advisory revenue, margin, and strategic objectives
