This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite in Brentwood, TN. The Managing Director, IT Finance is a strategic finance leader responsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis, and governance for the organization’s Information Technology function. Partners closely with IT and executive leadership to optimize technology investments, manage budgets, ensure financial transparency, and drive value from IT initiatives.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field is required. MBA or CPA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant exposure at the CIO/C-suite level is required.
  • Proven leadership and experience in financial planning, capital management, and executive-level financial partnering and proven experience supporting IT Finance for a multi-state and multi-facility organization.
  • Strong understanding of IT cost structures, technology investments, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills. Exceptional communication and executive presence.
  • Strong experience with ERP systems, financial planning tools, and IT financial management (ITFM) platforms as well as capital cost recovery/PM solutions.
  • Ability to influence and lead in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with industry benchmarks related to IT finance, such as operating and capital expense.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary finance partner to the CIO and IT leadership team, providing strategic financial leadership to drive value and align IT initiatives with enterprise objectives.
  • Provides strategic guidance on IT investment decisions, cost optimization, and long-term financial planning and aligns IT financial strategy with overall corporate financial goals and business priorities.
  • Directs financial planning & analysis activities. Leads the annual IT budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes. Develops and maintains financial models for major technology initiatives, including ROI, TCO, and CBAs and monitors and reports on IT spend, variances, and financial performance metrics.
  • Guides governance & cost management by establishing and enforcing IT financial governance, policies, and controls. Oversees chargeback/showback models and vendor financial management. Drives cost transparency and identify opportunities for efficiency and savings across IT operations.
  • Works with Legal and Procurement teams to manage contract renewals, conduct financial reviews, and negotiate terms for technology vendors and other departmental tech contracts. Partners with procurement and vendor management to negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance.
  • Leads technology investment management strategies. Oversees and evaluates capital and operating expenditures related to infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with accounting standards (GAAP), capitalization policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides leadership & collaboration to develop a high-performing IT team finance acumen.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and Business Unit leaders.
  • Presents financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership and, as needed, the Board of Directors.
  • Domestic U.S. travel may be required.
