About The Position

Foundation Managing Director The Managing Director of the Bank’s Foundation will be responsible for providing thought leadership as well as designing and implementing strategies and programs that advance the Bank’s Community Engagement and direct investment of the Foundation’s resources in line with the Bank’s Mission, Vision and Values. This position requires a unique combination of non-profit expertise, community building and advocacy, employee engagement, project management expertise as well as public relations and event planning abilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strategic Leadership Develop and implement a long-term strategic plan in coordination with key stakeholders. Lead development of the Foundation’s external voice on advocacy areas and issues. Represent the Bank and Foundation at community events and in service to steering committees, boards of issue aligned nonprofits and community leadership. Work with the Director of Corporate Impact and Foundation Chair to gain alignment on strategic direction of the Bank & Foundation’s effort. Advise the Director of Corporate Impact on related strategic development initiatives and opportunities. 2. Community Engagement Act as the primary liaison for Community Engagement for the Bank and Foundation. Effectively build relationships with leadership of various non-profits as identified in our Community Engagement plan. Develop a deep understanding of various organizations, their missions, strategies, challenges, and opportunities for volunteerism and philanthropy, implement a process for tracking and communicating broadly. Identify ways in which the Bank can partner with these organizations to solve challenges and improve outcomes and potentially leverage others Bank relationships for their cause. Explore potential other measures of impact such as the Bank’s impact on organizations or community initiatives. Effectively communicate results throughout the Bank and externally through social media and other public relations channels. Recommend & support development of potential products, partnerships or other ways that the Bank can address unmet community needs with a lens on underrepresented or systemically marginalized groups. 3. Stakeholder Engagement Support the Bank’s internal volunteerism committee by connecting the committee and employees to service opportunities with partner organizations and other organizations in the community. Lead the integration of a newly formed Foundation Board and Working Groups inclusive of the Bank’s Colleagues, Clients and Community stakeholders. Maintain and improve dashboard reporting of the Bank’s impact on the community as measured in dollars donated and time donated by employees. 4. Foundation Governance Develop, execute and make recommendations on the Foundation’s Operational Plan to include maintenance of the Foundation’s Corpus, Grant planning and tracking. Lead implementation of software and systems to effectively and efficiently receive, track, decide and communicate all gift decisions. Process and track payments to all Foundation gift recipients. Maintain governance of all required legal filings and established processes. Prepare for, support and close out required audits for the Foundation in a timely manner. Ensure proper documentation of all community engagement partner touch points and decisions within CRM. Resolve questions, complaints or feedback in line with the Bank’s client complaint process. The appropriate candidate must be a self-starter who can build out programming based on a broad vision – connecting the dots systemically for the greatest impact. Ability to develop external relationships / forge partnerships and to collaborate will be critical to success. Ideally, experience in the non-profit world with existing community relationships, this individual must be able to speak the language and know the challenges of non-profit service delivery.

Requirements

  • 5-10 plus years of professional work experience with a proven track record of nonprofit leadership, community engagement, and advocacy, strong social media and public relations exposure, event planning.
  • Ability to regularly represent the Bank at community events including nights and weekends.
  • Proven experience as a leader of projects and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent understanding of the Bank’s community and non-profit service providers
  • Highly creative with ability to think out of box
  • Experience developing and managing volunteerism and philanthropic programming
  • Proven ability to integrate key tenets of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into program design
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Advanced written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Up to date with latest trends and marketing best practices associated with philanthropy
  • Comfortable working with numbers, metrics and spreadsheets
  • Experience with a variety of software, including the Adobe Design Suite of products as well as Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to align work with business strategy and multiple initiatives.

  • Ideally, experience in the non-profit world with existing community relationships, this individual must be able to speak the language and know the challenges of non-profit service delivery.
