About The Position

The Managing Director is responsible for development of new multi-family communities in an assigned geographical area. This position is also responsible for advising and assisting the Senior Managing Director with the pursuit of profitable and sound development opportunities. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Identifies development opportunities then executes and manages the pre-development feasibility assessment, acquisition, design, development, assets, and disposition of the property. Oversees the development and construction of a property, including negotiating land contracts, entitling sites, developing budgets, and developing construction schedules. Ensures current cash flow and long-term market value of existing assets is maximized. Maintains relationships with brokers, land sellers, homebuilders, and investors. Interviews, hires, trains, and supervises Development Associates in assigned region. Participates in Company-provided training such as fair housing, safety, non-discrimination, and harassment prevention. Complies with all Company National Standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or other related field is preferred for this position.
  • Minimum of seven-to-ten years’ experience in real estate, development or finance.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to use personal computing devices and has advanced knowledge of email, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical and accounting functions.
  • Ability to read and comprehend financial statements, such as profit and loss statements, general ledgers, and budgets.
