About The Position

PRA is a market-leading business event management firm that delivers unique experiences. The Managing Director (MD) is a hands-on local office leader responsible for leading the Sales, Experience Design (Proposal Development), and Operations teams in day-to-day business operations. The MD also supports all aspects of business development in the local market and reports to the Regional Vice-President. This role provides guidance and support to the office team in problem resolution, compliance with PRA standards, key client and strategic partner relations, and sales goal attainment, while also managing the office's P&L.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent sales and client relation skills
  • Working knowledge of computer usage including database, Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally through email and phone with clients, suppliers, and Field Staff
  • Possess proactive and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of local area attractions, hotels, city streets, parks, and other venues
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including general office hours, weekends, frequent evenings, and some holidays
  • Ability to work within deadline constraints and set priorities
  • Possess a professional manner and appearance when representing PRA
  • Ability to perform multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize responsibilities and work assignments

Responsibilities

  • Oversee management of office Sales, Creative, and Operations functional areas, providing day to day support and guidance to the local team
  • Support local recruiting, on-boarding, and training efforts of new team members
  • Create and maintain a positive work culture and environment by mentoring and motivating team members
  • Lead local business development efforts including building and maintaining hotel and supplier partnerships; relationships with local industry partners; developing Sales strategy and marketing plans; product development
  • Support team with site inspection planning and execution and client presentations to win business opportunities for targeted accounts
  • Lead the Sales process on highly strategic, large scale revenue opportunities
  • Represent the office in local industry functions
  • Collaborate with Regional Vice-President on the development and implementation of business strategies supporting PRA's corporate initiatives
  • In collaboration with Regional Directors of Experience Design and Event Production along with PRA's Central Creative Team, identify, develop, and manage relationships with local supplier partners to support the evolving needs of the business and leverage the PRA brand
  • Collaborate and support the Operational team to ensure flawless program development and execution
  • Collaborate with centralized Sales and Creative functional leaders to elevate needs for specialized or supplemental resources as needed on a project basis
