About The Position

The Managing Director, Advisor Accelerator will provide leadership, direction, and accountability for the ongoing operations, growth, and business outcomes as well as the accelerated growth and development of Associate Advisors in the Fast Track Advisor Program (FTAP). Reporting directly to the National Managing Director, this leader will be responsible for vision-casting, mentoring, team leadership, business development, and business outcomes. The ideal candidate is a dynamic sales leader who is dedicated to our mission and values, has experience serving high net worth clients in an advisor capacity, and is passionate about recruiting, mentoring, training, and launching advisors to serve clients with excellence. Key Responsibilities: Vision-Casting: Grasps and has personally embraced the vision and mission of the Company and is able to articulate and inspire others toward the accomplishment of that mission. Maintains and cultivates the mission and vision of the company among team members while overseeing and motivating the team towards Company’s organizational goals. Champions positive metrics across all aspects of the Company’s healthy office dashboard (clients, team, growth, culture, and operations). Personally participates in and encourages team members to become involved in company-wide initiatives to facilitate one-Company thinking and vision of the larger organization. Contributes team’s “proven methods” to further knowledge-sharing across the organization. Associate Advisor Development: Invests in the growth and development of current and future Associate Advisors in the Fast Track Advisor Program to carry the Company’s mission into the future. Models, equips, encourages, and disciples Financial Professionals in the delivery of Biblically-based counsel to clients. Trains, equips, and encourages team members in business development, helping them to build a growing book of business. Pours self into the development and mentoring of Associate Advisors, laying out career path and encouraging growth. Identifies local mentors / experienced advisors to involve Associate Advisors in client meetings and business development activities early in their career with the Company. Understands and teaches Associate Advisors the art of quoting appropriate fee levels. Ensures team members successfully complete the Company’s career development plans in the allotted time frame, including obtaining recognized designations (CFP and CKA). Supports recruitment and onboarding of Associate Advisors in the Fast Track Advisor Program in partnership with Managing Directors and Team Services. Team Leadership: Sincerely values people and applies the principles embodied in the Company’s Management Language to lead their team in a manner that respects and values each individual rather than a top-down, authoritative leadership style. Drives effective utilization of the Company’s Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). Leads, Manages, and holds team members accountable (LMA). Conducts regular “Level 10” team meetings. Conducts Quarterly Conversations (6-5-5 meetings) with each direct report. Effectively stewards the unique strengths and areas of giftedness of each member of the team. Practices the art of leadership, building and nurturing a healthy, productive, continually learning work culture. Supports team to bring about professional and personal growth providing direction and accountability through the process. Seeks to continually increase knowledge of the financial planning philosophy and biblical principles upon which Blue Trust serves its client base through learning associated scripture memory verses in order to integrate Blue Trust’s philosophy into client counsel and services and challenges Associate Advisors to do the same. Proactively develops future leaders to ensure seamless transition to next generation of leadership. Personal Modeling: Actively integrates biblical principles in day-to-day behavior, exhibiting unremitting integrity and strong moral character. Evidences a personal life characterized by intentionality, growth, maturity, and balance. Understands the financial planning philosophy and biblical principles upon which Blue Trust serves its client base and applies these principles in personal life. Demonstrates maturity in interpersonal interactions and is open, adaptable, and capable of following. Provides spiritual leadership for the team members in the FTAP. Ensures personal integration of financial principles in personal life, adhering to requirement to have a personal financial plan reviewed annually by an internal Financial Advisor.

Requirements

  • Related Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience in business, with prior experience in financial services (fee-only investment and financial planning) in a Senior Advisor or Senior Financial Planner role preferred.
  • Business Development: Prior success in business development / business management. Ideal candidate has experience building a financial services practice, leading a team toward the accomplishment of goals, and marketing in high-net-worth clients and prospects, with a focus on strong client relationships, financial planning, and excellent service.
  • Strategic Thinking, Planning, and Problem-Solving: Adaptable, creative problem-solver who can pivot between big-picture strategy and tactical execution and implementation. Strong business acumen.
  • Leadership & Communication Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams in a dynamic, fast-paced setting while driving high performance and accountability. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present to executive leadership.
  • High Energy & Passion for the Mission: Enthusiastic about Blue Trust’s mission and values, with the charisma and energy to engage and inspire team members and clients. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of those portions of both the old and new testaments of the Bible with scriptural references to money and finances, and the ability to apply and integrate this knowledge into all phases of client counsel; holds team members accountable to the same standards.
  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree required, with a focus in business administration, financial planning, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • The ideal candidate possesses and maintains the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) and Certified Kingdom Advisor® (CKA) designations consistent with career development plans. May be required to obtain designations as a condition of employment within initial two years of employment.
