About The Position

The School of Engineering Medicine in collaboration with Texas A&M College of Engineering, Texas A&M School of Medicine and the state’s top-ranked Houston Methodist Hospital offer an innovative medical school program called ENMED. This program was established to transform healthcare through translational interdisciplinary research, the development of medical technologies, and the development and training of “Physicianeers.” ENMED delivers a revolutionary blended curriculum with focus on innovation and entrepreneurship where students receive a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Engineering degree in the same four years. The Manager under direction of the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Admissions organizes and coordinates day-to-day activities for Student Affairs and Admissions. This role focuses on the implementation of processes, systems, and workflows across the units. The position ensures that core operations run efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with institutional policies and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of experience in higher education or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and manages standing meetings for committees such as: Student Promotions Committee (SPC), Academic and Clinical Success (ACS), Learning Environment Committee.
  • Directs the registration for USMLE examination (Step 1 and Step 2), maintain USMLE documents and spreadsheets.
  • Verifies students who have applied for NBME exams.
  • Leads the Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) by verifying student list is correct in database and verifying student requirements for visiting student electives.
  • Manages documents needed for Military Match for current and former students to apply to residencies.
  • Responds to student inquiries related to procedures, timelines, documentation, and academic records.
  • Oversees the operational aspects of EnMed programming (e.g., orientations, graduation, workshops etc.) in collaboration with other team members.
  • Serves as the primary contact for students, faculty, and staff regarding Student Affairs and Admissions processes and policies.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains standardized procedures to support Student Affairs and Admissions operations, including (but not limited to) academic records processing, student onboarding, event workflows, student status changes (i.e. accommodations, LOAs), and compliance-related tasks.
  • Assists in Alumni Engagement Project & Process Improvement
  • Develops and implements operational strategies.
  • Oversees process improvement initiatives across the Student Affairs and Admissions unit, identifying inefficiencies and implementing data-informed solutions.
  • Partners with cross-campus units (Registrar, Academic Affairs, Financial Aid, etc.) to streamline procedures and maintain consistency across systems.
  • Oversees timelines, checklists, and communication flows to support major annual and semester-based Student Affairs and Admissions cycles.
  • Provides input for annual budgets.
  • Provides oversight of academic and co-curricular records for EnMed students in compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
  • Generates reports, dashboards, and data summaries to support decision making, accreditation review, and unit planning.
  • Tracks required student documentation, compliance items, and progression requirements, escalating concerns as appropriate.
  • Maintains accurate student contact information and metrics for EnMed alumni.
