Where You Will Work Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. As a Hybrid employee, you’ll engage in virtual collaboration as well as attend in-person meetings at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix or at one of our site locations. The Collaboration Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration. What You Will Do Support compliance with waste-related laws and Company policies at operating facilities and historic properties, ensuring cost-effective solutions and strong relationships with regulatory authorities and site personnel. Manage and support compliance with TSCA and EPCRA laws and environmental metrics reporting requirements. You will manage and coordinate TSCA and EPCRA compliance and reporting activities to promote accuracy and consistency. You will coach, mentor, and train environmental metrics and waste coordinator teams, fostering professional development. Oversee global data collection through Metrics Tracking Software and provide validated metrics for reporting. Coordinate hazardous, universal, and solid waste compliance activities and identify deficiencies in site programs, implementing corrective actions. Participate in internal environmental audits, review and approve treatment and disposal facilities, and manage select compliance activities at non-operating sites. Support corporate sustainability initiatives and legislative engagement related to waste management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or related natural science (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science) or Mathematics and 10 years of environmental management experience
OR
Master’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or related natural science (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science) or Mathematics and 8 years of environmental management experience
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations; ability to interpret and apply rules
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in team settings
Analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Commitment to safety and compliance
Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
Position is in busy, non-smoking office located in downtown Phoenix, AZ
Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator
Occasionally work may be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk
Will be required to frequently lift moderately heavy objects up to ten (10) pounds during the course of the workday
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
Will be required to travel up to 35% (Domestic 30% and International 5%)

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Environmental or related discipline
Mining or metals industry experience
Experience with State and Federal legislative development processes
Familiarity with ISO 14001 standards and auditing procedures
