About The Position

The Manager, Warehouse is responsible for leading all warehouse operations within a chemical mixing and distribution facility, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient handling of raw materials and finished goods. This role oversees inventory control, shipping and receiving, and team leadership while maintaining strict adherence to OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong operational leadership experience in a regulated environment and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of warehouse or distribution experience, preferably in chemical, manufacturing, or regulated environments.
  • 2–4+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations, including hazardous material handling.
  • Experience with ERP and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a chemical mixing or blending environment.
  • Hazmat certification (e.g., DOT/IATA training).
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping of chemical products.
  • Ensure efficient workflow and optimal space utilization within the warehouse.
  • Partner with production and supply chain teams to align material availability with mixing and distribution schedules.
  • Enforce all safety protocols related to handling hazardous materials, including proper labeling, storage, and transport.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Lead safety training programs and maintain SDS documentation and hazard communication standards.
  • Conduct routine audits and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts, reconciliations, and system updates.
  • Minimize product loss, damage, or contamination through proper handling and storage practices.
  • Utilize ERP/WMS systems to track and manage inventory movements.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse staff, including leads, forklift operators, and material handlers.
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation for hazardous materials.
  • Work with carriers and logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT shipping requirements, including proper packaging and labeling.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Track and report on KPIs such as order accuracy, on-time shipping, inventory accuracy, and safety metrics.
