About The Position

The Warehouse Operations Manager ensures adequate inventory of tools and products in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational needs. He/She performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to, purchasing, receiving, issuing, handling, and tracking inventory stock company wide, unless otherwise delegated.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in warehouse and inventory management, preferably in the Construction industry.
  • Track record of developing strong business relations, effective teams, and working effectively across business lines and functional lines at all levels of the organization
  • Working knowledge of inventory control practices; working knowledge of tools, supplies and equipment used in the construction industry.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Must work successfully under general supervision and possess great time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory management software.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Lift 50 pounds, routinely. Constantly move about on the feet.
  • Climb ladders of all types.
  • Complete full day assignments involving overhead work.
  • Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.
  • Must be capable of securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
  • Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.
  • Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed. This position requires flexible work hours. In order to get a project completed on time, this position is often required to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts.
  • Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a results-oriented approach to supervision, setting clear performance expectations and metrics for the team.
  • Regularly analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and advises corrective actions as needed.
  • Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate warehouse associates.
  • Maintains robust inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize discrepancies.
  • Procure tools and materials based on inventory levels and demand from field operations, ensuring timely availability.
  • Develops and implements control procedures.
  • Coordinates and manages physical cycle counts.
  • Identifies causes of issues and implements process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
  • Identify and coordinate tool repairs and replacements in compliance with warranty and partnership agreements.
  • Maintain standards of health, safety, hygiene, and security.
  • Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.
  • Set warehouse and team goals in collaboration with company initiatives and other team leads.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the warehouse and inventory management functions.
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall operational effectiveness.
  • Possess strong knowledge of MS Excel and other inventory management software.
  • Leverage technology tools for accurate record-keeping, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to various locations across the U.S. to provide on-site support, training, and oversight.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.
