Manager - Volunteer Services
About The Position
Responsible for collaborating with hospital staff to develop and implement volunteer roles that meet the needs of our departments and enhance the patient experience. Recruits, places and on-boards volunteers within regulatory and legal parameters. Oversees daily operations of administrative and volunteer staff within specialty programs including the high school and college volunteer programs as well as Research. Collaborates with other department staff to improve impact and efficiency of services and enhance the volunteer experience. Develops relationships with and partners with the local community to showcase volunteer opportunities that will develop into a talent pipeline for the hospital. Will be required to sit for Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services Administrator (CAVS) exam within two years. Reports to the Director of Volunteer Services
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in healthcare management, behavioral sciences, leadership and organizational development, personnel administration, business management or communication or CAVS certification required.
- Minimum one to three years experience with oversight of volunteer services or community services program including recruitment, quality control and development.
- Outstanding written, verbal and online communications skills
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, human relations skills, conflict management, decision making ability, and ability to generate new ideas and innovations.
- Demonstrated personal commitment to philosophy of volunteerism.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to persons of all ages and diverse backgrounds, skills and abilities.
- Ability to establish collaborative relationships within and outside the organization
