Manager, Venue Design The VNI (Venues and Infrastructure) team plays a critical role in delivering competition and non-competition venues that are functional, innovative, and fully accessible for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of the larger Games Planning & Delivery group, the VNI team ensures that all venues are designed and developed with the highest standards for functionality, sustainability, and inclusion. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Design Controls the Manager, Venue Design will support the development and production of drawing sets for a variety of Games venues. This role involves translating direction and design input into detailed drawings used for planning, budgeting, and construction purposes. The Manager, Venue Design will play a key role in ensuring that design documentation aligns with project requirements and timelines, working closely with the Senior Design Manager, internal teams, and external stakeholders to deliver responsible, accurate drawing packages. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, adapt quickly to evolving priorities, and possess exceptional project organization and management skills. Requirements

  • Minimum5+ years of relevant experience architecture design, Bim coordination.
  • Experience in space planning, architecture and design, event and games planning
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and construction documentation.
  • Understanding of building codes and accessibility requirements.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think critically and discern the right course of action with little guidance.
  • Willingness to occasionally visit venues and work on-site as needed.
  • General support to the core VNI team.

Nice To Haves

  • Games and Event experience is encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design team’s creation and maintenance of BIM models, ensuring their accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and LA28’s standards.
  • Coordinate BIM activities among the design team.
  • Collaborate with functional areas, engineers, and contractors to produce design drawings for venues.
  • Facilitate collaboration between internal teams ensuring alignment on deliverables and timelines.
  • Produce venue drawing sets used by contractors and games planning.
