About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a remote based Variant Analysis Manager to join its team. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm local time zone. Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of a team of Variant Scientists responsible for clinical reporting, including production scheduling, capacity planning, and metrics monitoring Lead an exceptional team of scientists, genetic counselors and other professionals to analyze, interpret, and report on clinical genetic data derived from a variety of core technologies such as NGS panels, NGS genome sequencing, and chromosomal microarray, among others Monitor and manage performance of team members Support career development of team members Establish and foster positive team dynamics and communication patterns Lead the development and optimization of clinical reporting workflows Represent Clinical Genomics in development programs as required Develop team strategies and goals and oversee their execution Participate in the development and refinement of tools for analyzing genetic data Engage with Director/Senior Manager to support department and company initiatives Recommend salary increases, promotions, terminations, and transfers of team members Contribute to reporting operations and provide scientific expertise as needed Receive and provide case-related and performance-related feedback in a direct and supportive setting Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • PhD in biological sciences, molecular genetics, human genetics or a related field, with 3 or more years of variant interpretation experience OR Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling, biological sciences, molecular genetics, human genetics or a related field, with 5 or more years of variant interpretation experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in Genetics, biological sciences, molecular genetics, human genetics or a related field, with 8 or more years of variant interpretation work experience
  • Familiarity with next-generation sequencing, genetic variant curation, interpretation of clinical relevance, and knowledge of advanced methods of copy number detection and copy number variant interpretation preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to significant change that is inherent in development and innovation

  • A sense of curiosity, strong collaborative spirit, and a willingness to learn
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of leadership or team management experience
  • 1 year of experience in a CLIA diagnostic laboratory,
  • Experience or strong interest in one or more of the following areas: oncology, cardiology, neurology, carrier screening, metabolic disorders and pediatric diagnostics, cytogenomics and/or exome analysis preferred
