Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. PSLD is responsible for the worldwide distribution of Cat aftermarket parts, integrated logistics, and global service to develop and support our global dealer network and customers. The Manager, Transportation for Caterpillar’s Equipment Processing Centers (EPC’s) you will manager a global team, with responsibilities to develop, implement and run supply and inventory operations for the global EPC network. Caterpillar’s EPC’s are logistics hubs within the Caterpillar network making product availability quicker for our customers and supporting cost efficiencies through various capabilities including late stage differentiation, re-assembly, Merge in Transit and work tools distribution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Continuous Transformation: Knowledge of evolving the business to remain competitive; ability to understand, adapt oneself to, respond to and proactively seek changes and innovation in the business environment to improve the competitive advantage of an organization.
  • Transportation: Knowledge of transportation; ability to transport materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers.
  • Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing, and managing complex supply chain streams.
  • Managing relationships and processes with internal and external suppliers to ensure adequate product supply to meet inventory strategies and enable Finish to Order, Merge in Transit operations and work tools distribution.
  • Establishing effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with clients, business partners and internal functions.
  • Performing analysis of supply chain trends, production schedules, forecast, on-time delivery, and inventory strategies and recommending improvements to the supply chain performance.
  • Manage inventory accuracy across all EPC locations, including cycle count and annual counts.
  • Help shape the future of the EPC supply strategy based on PSLD capabilities, growth and efficiency targets.
  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.
