About The Position
Zoox is seeking an experienced, action-oriented, and hands-on Manager, Tooling Engineering to lead a team of tooling engineers responsible for ensuring the tooling (forming dies, injection molds, casting molds, etc) used to build our vehicle fleet are cost effective, high quality, and developed within sufficient lead time. In this role, you will lead and grow a team of tooling engineers responsible for validating the design and manufacturing methods of tooling, identifying and managing preferred tooling vendors, supporting the procurement of tooling required for new product development parts, developing bottoms-up, should-cost models for tooling and evaluating supplier tooling quotes, identifying, justifying, and implementing cost reduction projects to reduce cost of vehicle components, and collaborating with Design Engineers, Process Engineers, and Quality Engineers to develop and improve product designs for robust components.
