About The Position

WBD is looking for experienced research and planning Tax Manager to join our dynamic tax function. The Manager of Tax Planning will play a key role in supporting the company’s U.S. and global tax strategy through in‑depth technical research, planning, and execution of complex transactions. This role focuses on mergers and acquisitions, internal restructurings, financing and treasury initiatives, and other strategic projects. The Manager will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including Legal, Treasury, Accounting, Corporate Development, and external advisors to ensure that tax considerations are fully integrated into business decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or JD
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a similar capacity.
  • Strong tax technical skills and ability to discuss relevant matters with other members of the tax department and auditors where necessary.
  • Good communication skills and proven ability to develop strong professional relationships with internal and external parties.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management skills, MS Excel and PowerPoint skills, and tax research skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Tax Planning with analysis and structuring relating to complex business transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, spin-offs, and joint ventures) and global internal reorganizations to ensure transactions are designed, analyzed, and implemented in a tax-efficient manner.
  • Perform U.S. federal income tax research and analysis, including writing technical memos supporting tax positions and preparing PowerPoint presentations related to complex U.S. federal tax transactions.
  • Support the Director of Planning in providing tax guidance related to WBD Treasury’s initiatives.
  • Lead WBD’s quarterly global cash management planning process, which includes partnering with stakeholders from treasury, accounting, and legal to design, implement, and document any required fundings or distributions.
  • Assist with tax issue spotting and addressing related inquiries for treasury projects (e.g. discrete projects, financial instruments, cash pools, equity and debt funding).
  • Monitor federal tax developments and assess the potential impact on the company’s tax posture.
  • Communicate complex tax concepts in ways that are meaningful and useful to other tax professionals and non-tax professionals.
