About the Team The Manager, Systems Engineering will join a dynamic team located in the New England region at Nutanix, known for its collaborative culture and commitment to driving innovation. This team prioritizes strategic partnerships and customer engagement, working together to empower clients with top-tier systems engineering services. Their mission is to foster growth through mentoring and continuously strive for excellence in both performance and customer satisfaction. You will report to the Sr. Director of Systems Engineering, who is known for a hands-on and supportive leadership style. This manager places a strong emphasis on mentoring and developing team members while maintaining high morale and integrity. The role is primarily remote, offering flexibility in work arrangements, with no specific requirements regarding office attendance days. This position requires considerable travel, with expectations ranging from 25% to 50%. The candidate should be prepared for this aspect as they will engage directly with clients and other stakeholders in various locations to enhance partnerships and drive project success.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience, including 3-5 years in a management role.
  • Proven experience in a quota-carrying position as a systems engineer, architect, or solutions architect.
  • Strong skills in sales, partnership, and strategic collaboration.
  • Proficiency in cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and virtualization.
  • Experience with data center infrastructure and business-critical applications.
  • Effective customer engagement and account management abilities.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce.com, Excel, Word, Slack, and Zoom.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring skills, and the ability to foster team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of systems engineers to foster professional development and maintain a positive team culture.
  • Monitor customer accounts and proof of concept projects to drive progress and ensure sales targets are met.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to align technical solutions with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Engage in customer meetings to provide technical expertise and enhance customer relationships.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members to support their growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed team quota expectations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Achieve a comprehensive understanding of the company's technology stack and competitive landscape for informed decision-making.
