About The Position

The Role: As a Manager of Systems Engineering at General Motors, you will lead a team of talented systems engineers/configurators in the development and integration of complex systems. You will be instrumental in driving technical excellence, fostering team growth, and ensuring the successful delivery of innovative solutions. What You'll Do: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of systems engineers, providing technical guidance, career development support, and performance feedback. Drive cross-functional team leadership, collaborating closely with design, software, hardware, and validation teams to ensure seamless system integration and delivery. Oversee the entire systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition and architecture design to implementation, testing, and deployment. Implement and continuously improve performance management processes for the team, setting clear objectives, conducting regular reviews, and fostering a culture of accountability and high achievement. Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Identify and mitigate technical risks, developing innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. Ensure adherence to industry best practices, company standards, and regulatory requirements in all systems engineering activities. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, presenting technical information clearly and concisely.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Expertise in Workday Integrations and Workday development tools.
  • Proven experience in managing Workday Integration Development team.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a systems engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in Coaching/Mentoring technical teams, fostering individual and collective growth.
  • Strong track record of Cross-Functional Team Leadership, effectively collaborating with diverse groups to achieve common goals.
  • Expertise in Performance Management methodologies, including goal setting, feedback, and development planning.
  • Extensive experience with the systems engineering lifecycle and methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is highly desirable.
