We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering Manager 2 based out of San Diego, CA with potential travel to overseas locations (travel is up to 25% or more). You will be required to successfully complete GSEG SME required training in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA with some travel to other US locations such as Baltimore, MD and Jacksonville, FL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or a master's degree with at least six years of related experience.
  • Experience managing or leading a team of engineers and demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
  • High proficiency in technical problem solving, to include root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Experience with ground station systems and associated IT responsibilities.
  • Experience with trusted downloads from classified systems.
  • Familiarity and/or experience performing field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of systems at customer locations.
  • Ability to support multiple classified networks, ensure the completion of necessary administrative tasks, and direct others as needed.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing engineering schematics and supplier design data.
  • Familiarity with aircraft vehicle operations associated with ground stations.
  • CompTIA Security+ and A+ certifications (experience in lieu of the A+ certification is acceptable), or the ability to obtain them within three months.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and non-standard shifts.
  • Must have the physical ability to easily maneuver around equipment in test lab, lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds, and able to pass a pre-assignment medical examination.
  • Candidate must successfully complete GSEG SME required training in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA with some travel to other US locations.
  • Candidate must be willing to travel up to 25% or more.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • At minimum must have a DoD Top Secret clearance that is in-scope or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation (CE), with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret/SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline.
  • Familiarity with OCONUS assignments and administrative management of site-specific cost and oversight requirements.
  • Experience with IETMs, NATOPS, maintenance instructions, and maintenance sign-off processes.
  • Experience with voice communications, networks, and Air Vehicle Operator interface.
  • Experience with engineering design and change management.
  • Experience preparing status reports and communicating project status to management.
  • Experience developing mechanisms for monitoring project progress, as well as facilitating intervention and problem solving with program managers and customers.
  • Experience with global mobilization organizations.
  • Experience with Cyber system requirements, STIGs, ATO and other relevant processes.

Responsibilities

  • Join our Field Engineering team to support the initial deployment, operations, training, and maintenance of a complex airborne and terrestrial tactical communication system.
  • Manage Triton program engineers and Operations and Sustainment for OCONUS locations.
  • Provide functional supervision for a team of approximately 10 to 15 highly skilled Field Engineers.
  • Work on multiple initiatives, including follow-on contracts, new business growth opportunities, internal research and development, and capital projects.
  • Recruit new talent to fulfill staffing commitments.
  • Forecast staffing needs and workload; foster employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring, and career development.
  • Provide employee training and identify necessary skills for program execution.
  • Manage employee performance reviews and lead various functional management processes.
  • Lead a deployment team, ensuring high-level operations and sustainment while performing hands-on technical and leadership tasks during Triton operations.
  • Work closely with diverse Integrated Product Teams and provide guidance to manufacturing engineering, logistics, and operations staff.
