About The Position

Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Manager, Surgery Scheduling & ASC Optimization to join our team in Wayne, PA . This role oversees the daily operations of the Surgery Scheduling department, ensuring efficient staffing, workflow, and resource utilization. The position is responsible for supervising team performance, approving timekeeping, conducting audits, and maintaining compliance with payer and organizational requirements. It collaborates with clinical and administrative leaders, physicians, and other departments to optimize operating room usage, patient scheduling accuracy, and financial processes. The role also monitors scheduling trends, addresses issues proactively, and supports strategic initiatives to improve quality, productivity, and patient access. This is a full time Monday-Friday position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires 2 or more years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven leadership skills with an ability to motivate with a positive attitude that positively impacts others.

Responsibilities

  • Manages daily operations of the Surgery Scheduling department to optimize performance and resource use.
  • Reviews/approves timesheets and PTO requests; provides attendance and schedule reports to leadership.
  • Oversees performance management including reviews, coaching, corrective action, and PIPs.
  • Monitors daily workflow and adjusts staff assignments as needed.
  • Ensures efficient, high-quality scheduling and care delivery.
  • Oversees and monitors financial collections for surgical patients.
  • Collaborates with internal/external teams to ensure accurate registration and adherence to patient revenue cycle processes.
  • Conducts audits to maintain consistency and accuracy in scheduling practices.
  • Supervises, trains, orients, and evaluates assigned staff.
  • Stays current on payer requirements and trains staff to maintain compliance.
  • Attends meetings and participates in committees as requested.
  • Assists in identifying and trending denials related to registration and authorization errors.
  • Researches and resolves scheduling discrepancies and provides corrective action plans.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and deadlines.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion with sensitive information.
  • Partners with Center Administrator on operational and strategic alignment.
  • Coordinates with Physicians and Regional Directors to optimize OR schedules and specialty placement.
  • Manages release of unused OR time and prioritizes backfill strategies to reduce downtime and prevent closures.
