About The Position

The Manager, Supply Chain Management - Analytics and Data Science – Global Logistics enables end‑to‑end planning and execution across Walmart Global Logistics by applying data, analytics, AI, and data science to real operational processes. This role supports how goods move from origin through ports and distribution centers and ultimately to stores and customers, translating complex and often ambiguous system and execution data into actionable insights that improve service, flow, and cost. This role operates at the intersection of analytics, operations, and partnership. You will collaborate closely with Replenishment, Inventory, Sourcing, and Operations teams, participate in DC operation lifecycles, and contribute insights that support both daily execution and long‑term network optimization. The work spans geographies and time zones, offering exposure to global logistics processes and how decisions made upstream impact downstream execution. Walmart Global Logistics manages the movement of goods across a complex, global network - coordinating suppliers, transportation providers, ports, distribution centers, and stores to ensure product availability for customers. The organization focuses on: End‑to‑end logistics and transportation execution, Inventory flow and replenishment enablement, Operational excellence supported by analytics and technology, and Continuous improvement across global supply chain processes.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in SQL and BigQuery, with the ability to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Experience using Power BI or Tableau to drive visibility into operational performance.
  • Ability to work effectively with ambiguous data and evolving requirements.
  • Experience partnering cross‑functionally across Replenishment, Inventory, Supply Chain, and Operations sectors.
  • Comfort engaging in operational discussions and forums, translating analytics into execution‑relevant context.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, constructive attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect analytics to real operational outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field and 2 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area.
  • 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data from planning, logistics, replenishment, and execution systems that support the end‑to‑end movement of goods from origin to destination.
  • Navigate incomplete or ambiguous data sets to develop practical, data‑driven insights that support operational decision‑making.
  • Evaluate how upstream decisions (supplier, sourcing, inventory positioning) impact downstream execution in distribution centers and stores.
  • Partner with Replenishment, Inventory, Sourcing, Transportation, and Operations teams to identify opportunities and drive aligned planning and execution strategies.
  • Participate in operational calls and standard modulation forums, contributing analytics‑backed insights and confidently speaking to operational performance and trade‑offs.
  • Communicate insights through clear storytelling tailored to operational, analytical, and leadership audiences.
  • Support end‑to‑end project delivery, including problem definition, analytical solution design, deployment, and performance tracking.
  • Apply analytics to initiatives spanning planning, execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, practical, and embedded into day‑to‑day operational workflows.
  • Monitor and analyze key metrics including On‑Time Delivery (OTD), inventory flow, cost, and forecast/model accuracy.
  • Identify root causes of performance variability and support corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous operational improvement through data‑driven insights.
  • Collaborate with partners across global regions and time zones, supporting end‑to‑end logistics processes.
  • Operate with flexibility as needed to support overseas partners and global operating rhythms.
  • Gain exposure to how global supply chain decisions are executed across regions, systems, and operating models.
  • Exhibit aptitude for leadership and delegation, influencing partners and supporting team growth.
  • Promote data literacy and self‑service analytics across planning and operations teams.
