About The Position

What Pharmaceutical Strategic Sourcing contributes to Cardinal Health Pharmaceutical Strategic Sourcing is responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies to leverage relationships within business entity or across enterprise to achieve best total value. Includes Category and or Commodity management strategies and execution, supplier relationship management, negotiation, risk management and supply base performance management. May be involved in forward or investment buys, plus alternative markets. Location This is a hybrid role based in Dublin, Ohio; with expectations to be in-office 1 day per week.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
8-12 years of experience, preferred
Ideally targeting polished communicators with a track-record in relationship management (whether that's internal stakeholders or external customers), project or program management, conflict resolution and problem solving, and sound organizational skills
Experience with strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, contract review and relining, preferred
Financial acumen or experience mitigating risk, preferred
Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills - with a high level of attention to detail
Healthcare (and Pharmaceutical) experience, preferred
Prior people leadership experience a plus

Responsibilities

Work with key customers on third party returns.
Establish strong relationships with key customers to resolve outstanding questions/concerns, establish and progress initiatives and priorities, and risk mitigation on a critical long-standing program.
Work with pharmaceutical manufacturers to mitigate financial risk on returns program.
Create financial statements on third party returns program.
Lead update meetings with National Accounts, finance, and purchasing.
Report on third party returns program on a quarterly basis to senior leadership.
Manage resources responsibility for execution of approved resolution of deductions.
Ensure customer agreements regarding returns processed are adhered to.
Manage direct report.
Negotiate terms and conditions within the Wholesale Purchase Agreements with Pharmaceutical Suppliers.
Achieve inclusion of key terms to meet financial goals and mitigate risk.
Renegotiate unfavorable terms in existing contracts to achieve working capital goals.
Ability to build strong internal and external relationships and manage effectively across a heavily matrixed organization.
Ability to analyze, summarize and communicate data for all organizational levels.
Ability to convey complexities regarding impacts and recommendations to executives.
Leads with influence to facilitate cross-functional issue resolution and process improvement.
Manages department operations and supervises professional employees, front line supervisors and/or business support staff
Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals
Ensures employees operate within guidelines
Decisions have a short term impact on work processes, outcomes and customers
Interacts with subordinates, peers, customers, and suppliers at various management levels; may interact with senior management
Interactions normally involve resolution of issues related to operations and/or projects
