About The Position

ABCD’s Education, Training, and Youth Services Department offers a range of education and job training programs to help community members reach their goals. The Manager - Strategic Program Development works closely with the Vice President of Workforce Development to engage in strategic planning and implementation efforts to deliver on the Education, Training, & Youth Services Department’s goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and five years of planning and/or program management experience is required.
  • Excellent prioritization and facilitation skills with a clear focus on results.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and consult with cross-functional teams working on operational and strategic initiatives
  • Flexibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team required.
  • Ability to deal sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Advance degree in social services or management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Vice President and/or independently to identify, establish, and implement strategic priorities.
  • Develops, as instructed, implementation roadmaps, including timelines, milestones, and metrics by which to measure success and impact, in furtherance of department goals and objectives relative to workforce development programming.
  • Partners with the Vice President to plan, launch, and monitor the development of expanded or new workforce development programs, projects, or initiatives.
  • Facilitates internal brainstorming and program planning relative to workforce development programming.
  • Leads intra-department working groups and projects as assigned.
  • Work closely with, and function as an internal consultant to, Department program teams to establish or clarify program objectives.
  • Supports the Vice President in the development of staffing models to enable the attainment of department and/or program goals and objectives.
  • Assists in the development of methods to communicate processes, goals, and status of programs and projects with diverse audiences, both internal and external.
  • Engages with partners and potential partners, as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
