About The Position

We’re seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead a talented team of software engineers responsible for designing, building, and maintaining AbsenceSoft’s platform. In this role, you’ll combine strong technical expertise with people leadership to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions. You’ll drive collaboration across teams, foster innovation, and create an environment where engineers can do their best work while growing in their careers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading software engineering teams in an agile environment.
  • Strong technical background in modern software development (e.g., Java, .NET, cloud platforms, APIs).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance technical detail with project delivery and business priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 5–8 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SaaS platforms, HR technology, or enterprise software.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Strategic thinker who empowers teams and fosters cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and career development.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, QA, and other stakeholders to define project scope, priorities, and timelines.
  • Drive agile development practices to ensure predictable delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Review technical designs, code, and processes to uphold engineering standards and best practices.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
  • Manage team capacity, hiring, and resource planning to meet business needs.
  • Participate in a highly compliant environment and help maintain company controls and security within your role.
