Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Manager, Software Engineering in San Mateo, CA to lead, mentor, appropriately delegate, and empower a team of 3-5+ engineers to deliver against strategic business outcomes. Requires a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field or equivalent, and two (2) years of experience working with Dev teams and improving services and infrastructural changes as a part of root cause analysis and resolution of incidents; creating and enhancing automation to ensure deployment of systems; enhancing infrastructures and auto-scale in the face of increasing network traffic or storage pressure; working with teams to implement requirements for Pub-Sub system (Kafka); setting up and maintaining monitoring for applications using Splunk and Yamas; setting up Splunk dashboards to read from local metric exporter and provide quick visibility into cluster state; leading projects to develop tools based on user's requirements and usage, concentrated to reduce the troubleshooting time of engineers and improve visibility into the infrastructure; and in executing duties, utilizing tools including Chef, Screwdriver v2/v3, Jenkins, Pogo, Artifactory, and Git; and working with high-volume, highly-available messaging clusters including Kafka and Zookeeper, Hashicorp Consul, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Package management, Splunk, Monitoring systems, and Certificate and Identity management systems. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. Sony is an EOE.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field or equivalent
