About The Position

The Manager, Software Engineering Management with the HR Engineering organization supports ServiceNow’s HR Service Delivery (HRSD) product suite. This team focuses on building scalable, secure, and user-friendly applications that streamline HR workflows, including case management, employee document handling, lifecycle events, Growth and hiring experiences. Their work ensures seamless integration with the broader ServiceNow platform, enabling organizations to deliver efficient and personalized HR services. The team collaborates closely with product management to drive innovation and maintain high standards of reliability and performance for global enterprise customers.

Requirements

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This includes using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s impact on engineering practices.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Strong background in modern software engineering practices and technologies relevant to large-scale enterprise products.
  • Advanced coding skills with fluency in one or more relevant programming languages (Java, C++, JavaScript, or similar).
  • Experience with open source tools, automation frameworks, and AI tools.
  • Proven ability to design CI/CD pipelines and efficiently architect automation suite to drive high quality in a short release cycle environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to mentor and grow high-performing team members
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams with combined engineering and quality responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage product development activities and oversee end-to-end engineering deliverables with a high quality first mindset.
  • Manage team of engineers, providing technical guidance, feedback, and career development.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, product management, design, support, quality, and other dev teams to create high-quality native AI solutions.
  • Manage daily activities of the end to end development team, ensuring engineering excellence, code quality, and delivery velocity.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives including designing testing pipelines, driving test automation to enhance reliability, performance, and scalability of products and services.
  • Solve difficult and sometimes ambiguous problems by fostering collaboration and applying structured decision-making.
  • Manage departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhance and maintain a best-of-class engineering and quality team.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align on priorities, communicate issues, and utilize best practices.
