The Manager of Social Work plans, organizes, and directs a program for social work services for patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Social Work.
  • Minimum of three (3) years Medical Social Work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.
  • NJ Licensed Social Worker.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) to Three (3) years management Experience
  • NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate social work services.
  • Meet staffing needs and establish flexibility in order to meet growth needs.
  • Evaluate existing and future needs and services and establish goals, objectives, and standards for the provision of medical social work services.
  • Respond to growth by advocating for additional staff resources and cross training staff to meet changing needs.
  • Develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures pertaining to the delivery of social work services to patients and their families.
  • Maintain membership in professional organizations to keep current with changes in regulations and trends.
  • Participate with administrators and professional staff of other disciplines in the formulation of programs to integrate and coordinate services.
  • Use problem solving and interpersonal skills to interact across disciplines to benefit patient and family services.
  • As an advocate for social work policy, educate other disciplines, departments, agencies, organizations and the public.
  • Serve as a technical resource person to community organizations, agencies, and allied health personnel concerning medical and psychiatric social work services.
  • Utilize staff to represent the organization in community settings.
  • Supervise and monitor the maintenance of records and the preparation of reports.
  • Assure that records meet state and federal requirements.
  • Provide ongoing supervision of staff according to their level of need and organization and state requirements.
  • Complete chart audits, sit on quarterly Performance Improvement (PI) Committee, and participate in PI activities.
  • Measure PI indicators quarterly and successfully implement action plans.
  • Attend (or send designee) and participate in weekly team meetings to discuss cases.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
