About The Position

The Manager, Safety Management Systems (SMS), Occupational Health and Safety reports directly to the Director, Safety. This position is responsible for the management of Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (CapMetro) SMS throughout the organization. This position partners and collaborates with stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure compliance and adherence to the regulatory requirements as annotated in 49 CFR Part 673 through CapMetro’s various programs and policies. The position will collaborate with various levels of leadership across the company in maintaining SMS subprograms, while providing subject matter expertise and technical guidance for various safety and compliance initiatives throughout the company. This position also will review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents, or ergonomic factors. Ensure inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals. Responsibilities

  • Manage Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (CapMetro) SMS throughout the organization
  • Partner and collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure compliance and adherence to the regulatory requirements as annotated in 49 CFR Part 673 through CapMetro’s various programs and policies
