About The Position

As the IT Manager of Finance and Controlling, you will serve as the strategic lead and primary partner to the Finance community, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical SAP execution. In this role, you will oversee the development and lifecycle of financial system initiatives, ensuring that the IT organization effectively supports the needs of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Tax, General Ledger, Corporate Accounting, Supply Chain Finance, and Fixed Assets. You will play a pivotal role in the organization’s digital transformation for the transition to S/4HANA, ensuring the finance landscape is modernized and optimized for future growth. By leading cross-functional teams, you will define product features, prioritize technical backlogs, and drive the delivery of high-quality SAP FICO solutions. Your leadership and strategic guidance will be essential in managing a team of systems analysts to optimize financial processes, maintain system integrity, and achieve long-term business objectives.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: 7–10 years of overall experience, with at least 5 years specifically in SAP FICO functional or related IT roles.
  • Leadership & Management: Proven experience managing a team, with strong skills in leadership, communication, and personnel development.
  • Technical Frameworks: Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and the SAP product development lifecycle.
  • Analytical Skills: Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret user feedback and system data to drive improvements.
  • Strategic Mindset: Customer-centric and innovative thinker with a focus on long-term IT strategy and S/4HANA evolution.
  • Organizational Excellence: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex organizational tasks.
  • Financial Accountability: Experience managing cost center budgets as well as project-specific capital and expense (CAPEX/OPEX) forecasts.

Responsibilities

  • Roadmap and Feature Prioritization: Lead the definition and prioritization of SAP features by aligning business goals with technical feasibility. Manage the product backlog and maintain a strategic roadmap, including the critical transition to S/4HANA.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the primary IT liaison to Finance, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure goal alignment. Facilitate transparent communication and foster a culture of accountability across global business units.
  • SAP Development Oversight: Direct the execution of SAP development cycles, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with proactive risk mitigation strategies in place.
  • Requirements and Documentation: Gather and translate complex financial needs into clear technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure seamless execution by the development team.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Deliver regular reporting on project status, key performance metrics, and strategic decisions to senior management and the broader Finance community.
  • Functional Subject Matter Expertise: Provide deep technical knowledge of SAP FICO modules and their integration points with SD, MM, PP, and HR, as well as a fundamental understanding of Workflows, IDOCs, and EDI.
  • Financial Business Process Mastery: Drive optimizations across the finance landscape, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Tax, General Ledger, Corporate Accounting, Supply Chain Finance, and Fixed Assets.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship: Manage and develop a team of direct reports and contractors. Allocate resources effectively to balance daily operations with long-term project output while supporting professional growth through coaching.
  • Operational and Budgetary Management: Manage cost center budgets, capital expenditures, and expense forecasts while maintaining flexibility to handle multiple shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with IT colleagues and business customers to consistently meet and exceed expected service levels.
